It’s been a very busy month in our wonderful class! I am so proud of all the hard work the boys have been doing.
We’re wrapping up our multiplication and division unit. The boys quickly caught on to the concepts and have various strategies up their sleeves and many workbook pages completed.

They’re now able to answer x2 facts with impressive speed!
All the boys are showing improvement in spelling. I will start to send spelling words home so they can practise for their tests. We’ve reviewed nouns and adjectives to facilitate descriptive writing. To reinforce writing full sentences in a fun way, we’ve taken classic warm-up games (ex: two truths and a lie, would you rather… etc) and turned them into writing exercises. The boys enjoy using their creative thinking skills and reading what they come up with to the class to spark some interesting discussions. They have also completed our first writing assignments typed on the computer; coming up with endings to various nursery rhymes.

The boys have created some lovely, vibrant art this month. We learned about abstract art and created pieces inspired by the artist Joan Miro. We have started talking about different types of lines.

The boys have been steadily moving up in levels in our computer programs. These games have been instrumental in motivating the boys to practise their math, reading and writing skill and it has had a notable effect on their progress.
