ART

After  learning  about  Canadian  artist  Ted   Harrison,  the  boys  created  their  own   masterpieces  depicting  scenes  from  the   northern  territories.  It  was  a  great   opportunity  to  discuss  some  geography!

D*** created  a  wonderful  cover  for  our   novel  study,  City  of  Ember.  The  boys   were  very  engaged  and  attentive   listeners.  Now  we’re  on  to  the  sequel!

One  of  the  reasons  I  love  these  Math  books   is  the  fun  games  they  include  in  the  review   section ☺☺

Reading and  writing

We  had  fun  learning  about  homonyms   with  the  riddle  book  Eight  Ate.  The  boys   read  riddles  to  each  other  and  then  wrote   their  own!

Word  ladder- start  with  a  word  and  take   turns  changing  one  letter  to  make  a  new   word…this  was  a  fun  challenge!

Sentence  scavenger  hunt!  The  boys  took   turns  writing  a  sentence  and  hiding  the   words  of  their  sentence  in  the  hallway.   The  rest  of  the  class  had  to  find  the  words   and  put  them  in  order.

The  boys  made  their  own  crossword   puzzles  to  practise  our  spelling  words. They  wrote  the  clues  and  I  typed  them   into  a  crossword  maker  program. Here   Y**** is  doing G****’s crossword  ☺☺
